Cars in Germany's City Discovered Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Confirm

Police mentioned they were alerted by a man who noticed a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored fluid

Approximately 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.

Vehicles, walls and postboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.

Officers state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.

The liquid had been placed in the form of a banned symbol, they reported.

Police then discovered many other smeared vehicles and house walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement say initial examinations suggest the substance was most likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no indication as to its origin; authorities are currently not aware of any injuries in relation with the event," they stated.

Municipal representatives stated they were attempting "to solve the case" and have requested to the residents for details.

A high-ranking official said the vandalism made him speechless and required to be solved quickly.

"This event affects the center of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist violent incident five years ago," he posted on a platform, recalling the murder of nine individuals by a shooter aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in five years prior.
